Step 1: Nothing Happens When You Press the Button

Step 3: Water Flows, but It's Weak or Sputtering

- Clean the intake screen. The mesh screen on the bottom of the pump is the number-one culprit. It quietly collects sediment and mineral buildup until flow drops to a dribble. Pop it off and rinse it; for white crusty scale, soak the screen and pump base in diluted white vinegar until the deposits soften, then rinse thoroughly with clean water before the next use.
- Clean the spout screen. Faucet-tip screens clog with mineral deposits just like household aerators. Unscrew the ring at the end of the spout, rinse the little screen, and scrub it gently.
- Charge before you disassemble. A low battery spins the motor slower, and the stream weakens noticeably before the pump dies outright. Recharge fully and retest — you may have no clog at all.
- Sputtering with a full tank usually means air is sneaking in at a loose hose connection on the pump outlet. Push the hose fully onto its barb and test again.

Step 4: The Battery Won't Charge
No charging light, or no change after hours plugged in? Run these in order:
- Swap the cable and adapter first. Cheap USB cables fail constantly, and this is the most common "dead charger" cause. Use the cable that shipped with the pump or a known-good branded one, on a basic 5V adapter.
- Dry the port. A faucet lives next to water, and moisture inside a USB port corrodes the contacts until charging gets flaky. Let the port air-dry completely before plugging in, and keep it capped or facing down in the field.

- Accept battery age. Lithium cells fade with charge cycles. If your pump is several seasons old, holds less runtime every trip, and now won't charge at all, the cell is done — replace the pump unit rather than fighting it.
